These terms are provided in draft form and are pending professional legal review.
1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of the Keepsafe application ("the Service"), operated by Illuminate UX Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Keepsafe is a secure digital estate planning and financial record management platform. The Service allows you to store and manage personal records including financial accounts, property details, vehicles, pensions, investments, wills, legal documents, and household information in an encrypted digital vault.

The Service is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, or tax advice. You should seek independent professional advice where appropriate.

3. Eligibility

The Service is available to individuals who are at least 18 years old and resident in the United Kingdom. By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

4. Account Registration and Security

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

We recommend enabling two-factor authentication and using a strong, unique passphrase for your account.

5. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you store in Keepsafe. You must not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service.

6. Data Storage and Encryption

All sensitive data stored in Keepsafe is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption. We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it. For more information, see our Privacy policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Service, including its design, functionality, and branding, belong to Illuminate UX Ltd. You retain ownership of the data you store in the Service.

8. Prohibited Use

You must not use the Service to store illegal content, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems, or to interfere with other users' use of the Service.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or restrict access to the Service for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice of planned outages where possible.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Illuminate UX Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

11. Termination and Account Deletion

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon account closure, your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy policy. Audit logs may be retained in anonymised form for regulatory compliance purposes.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
